Delos-Y Breakfast – London 9 May 2019
On 9 May 2019, the first Delos-Y event in London took place as part of the London International Disputes Week (LIDW), in conjunction with CIARB YMG and Grant Thornton. This innovative event format gives the floor to a new generation of arbitration practitioners, typically referred to as ‘mid-levels’, encouraging them to share their experience and provide perspective on the early stages of a career in international arbitration to the youngest members of the community. Further information on the event concept and format is available here.
The event has been designed for master’s level students, interns and trainees who are considering a career in international arbitration, to give them the opportunity to meet with mid-level practitioners at some of the most prestigious practices, ranging from the large international firms to boutiques.
In order to encourage a free-flowing discussion, participants were divided into tables of 6-8 with two mid-level speakers at each table, who addressed the following topics:
Winning with experts
From footnotes to cross-examination
The speakers at the event were Marie Bouchard (Dechert), Ophélie Divoy (DLA Piper), Stefan Dudas (Derains & Gharavi), Laura Fadlallah (Bredin Prat), Samy Markbaoui (White & Case), Joséphine Neveux (Quinn Emanuel), Tejas Shiroor (Lazareff le Bars) and Chloé Vialard (Shearman & Sterling).
The event was facilitated by Janice Feigher (Norton Rose Fulbright) and Jérémie Kohn (Quinn Emanuel).
