The Guide is designed to assist in-house counsel, corporate lawyers and arbitration practitioners with efficiently accessing key insights into a large range of jurisdictions, including for the purposes of negotiating the choice of arbitral seats and conducting arbitral proceedings in those jurisdictions. PRESS RELEASE OF 13 JULY 2017 Delos launches today an international study to develop a Guide for in-house counsel, corporate lawyers and arbitration practitioners to arbitral seats around the world. As arbitration becomes more widespread, including in smaller contracts and among SMEs and start-ups, users without routine access to arbitration expertise need clear and reliable tools to select safe places of arbitration in an informed manner. The Guide will review the legal infrastructure and track record of a large number of potential places of arbitration. FIRST AWARD

PRESS RELEASE OF 3 APRIL 2017 Delos is pleased to announce that it has issued today the first award in an arbitration conducted under its Rules of Arbitration. The dispute arose from a services agreement between two European companies of different nationality in the ‘smart wearables’ industry. The amount in dispute was below EUR 200,000 and the dispute was resolved in just over three months from the commencement of the arbitration, including extensions of time of three weeks induced by the parties. The contract containing the arbitration agreement had been registered with Delos and the Parties accordingly benefitted from a reduction of the arbitration costs as provided for by the Delos procedures for early registration of contracts.
