The ROAP Asia Finals bring to a close our advanced remote oral advocacy and cross-examination courses, by featuring the most persuasive and skilled participants on each course.

This year’s edition of ROAP Asia was dedicated to Alastair Henderson.

The outcome of the finals will be determined by a panel of world-class arbitrators consisting of Alastair Henderson (President), Delphine Ho and Michael Lee.

The event will take place in a hybrid format on 27 August 2026 from 2pm to 5.40pm SGT. Provisional event programme:

TRIBUNAL FOR ROAP ASIA 2026 FINALS

Alastair Henderson is an independent arbitrator based in Singapore, with more than 30 years of experience in complex international dispute resolution. He is widely recognised as a ‘top-notch and efficient arbitrator’ and a member of the ‘international arbitration hall of fame’. He currently serves on the Singapore International Arbitration Centre’s Court of Arbitration and is regarded as one of the region’s ‘arbitration elite’. Previously a partner at Herbert Smith Freehills Kramer, Alastair led the firm’s arbitration practice across Southeast Asia. He now practices independently as an arbitrator, while continuing as a consultant to the firm. His appointments are conducted separately from the firm to ensure independence and avoid conflicts. He works on cases around the world, with particular experience across South and Southeast Asia. He is familiar with civil and common law systems and is experienced under major international arbitral rules. He also works regularly with the main regional arbitration institutions in Southeast Asia and in ad hoc arbitrations. Alastair understands that parties value efficiency, clarity, and thoughtful engagement from the tribunal. He is committed to being available, responsive, and fully engaged throughout every stage of the case.

Delphine Ho is a full-time independent arbitrator and mediator, with 20 years of experience as counsel, in the Singapore courts and in an arbitral institution. She has been appointed in arbitrations as president, co-arbitrator and sole arbitrator under various arbitral rules, including the rules of the Singapore International Arbitration Centre (SIAC), International Chamber of Commerce (ICC) and UNCITRAL Arbitration Rules. Delphine’s disputes expertise spans various sectors and industries, including construction and infrastructure, shareholder and joint venture, energy, commodities, transportation, technology and general commercial matters. Prior to joining The Arbitration Chambers, Delphine was the Registrar of the Singapore International Arbitration Centre from 2016 to 2021. As Registrar, she oversaw the administration of thousands of arbitration cases filed with the SIAC and conducted under the SIAC Arbitration Rules (multiple editions), the UNCITRAL Rules and other institutional rules. In addition to supervising the SIAC Secretariat, she was also responsible for the scrutiny and approval of more than 800 draft awards and orders, and was the statutory authority for the taxation of arbitration costs under the Singapore International Arbitration Act. Delphine started practice in one of the largest legal firms in Singapore, with a practice focused on complex litigation and arbitration. She entered the Singapore judicial service in 2013, serving concurrently as an Assistant Registrar in the Supreme Court and District Judge of the State Courts. In addition, Delphine teaches international arbitration at various levels, and is a member of the Singapore Institute of Arbitrators’ (SIArb) faculty.

Michael Lee is an experienced international commercial arbitrator practising principally from Singapore and London. Before joining the English Bar he was a solicitor and a partner in a major international law firm, Norton Rose, where he managed the Paris office and the firm’s international arbitration group. Michael has over 30 years’ experience of practising commercial litigation in the English High Court and international arbitration, as well as coordinating and overseeing overseas litigation. Michael has a wide-ranging practice as an international arbitrator. He has served as a member of the tribunal in over 150 international arbitrations administered under the rules of various international arbitration institutions. These have included the SIAC, HKIAC, ICC, LCIA, ICSID and AAA as well as ad hoc arbitrations and those under UNCITRAL rules. Arbitrations in which he has been appointed have included disputes in the fields of energy supply, oil and gas, agency, joint ventures, expropriation and engineering, as well as finance and banking, involving a variety of national laws and jurisdictions. Michael is on the panel of international arbitrators of the AAA, SIAC, HKIAC, Beijing Arbitration Commission, Asian International Arbitration Centre (formerly Kuala Lumpur Regional Centre for Arbitration) and Indian Council of Arbitration. Michael is also a Centre for Dispute Resolution (CEDR) accredited mediator.
