International Arbitration in the Real World: A How-To Guide to the Delos Rules
The ‘hands-on’ webinar on the Delos Rules, took place on Wednesday 24 November 2021, at 2pm CET. It featured Dr Cristina Alexe FCIArb, Thomas Granier and Adrian Iordache. The event was organised by Delos and Iordache Partners and supported by the Romania Chapter of the New York State Bar Association International Section.

ABOUT OUR SPEAKERS
Dr Cristina Alexe FCIArb is partner of a Romanian law office having over 22 years of experience in legal matters as member of the Bucharest Bar. Her practice focuses on international arbitration, advising on matters of international law, contract law, cross-border jurisdiction and assisting clients in arbitration proceedings in front of Romanian and international courts of arbitration under various rules (ICC, VIAC, UNCITRAL, ICSID and CICA CCIR). Her arbitration experience is doubled by strong knowledge and continued practise as a transactional lawyer in M&A/privatisation, banking and finance, real estate and project finance areas. Dr Cristina Alexe acts as an international arbitrator with the ICC International Court of Arbitration and the Court of International Commercial Arbitration of the Romanian Chamber of Commerce and Industry. She is listed on the Vienna International Arbitration Centre (VIAC) list of arbitration practitioners, the Shenzen Court of International Arbitration (SCIA), Georgian Dispute Resolution Centre (DRC) and with the AHK International Court of Arbitration (Romanian-German Chamber of Commerce). Dr Cristina Alexe is a fellow with the Chartered Institute of Arbitrators. She graduated the ICC Advanced Arbitration Academy for Central and Eastern Europe, a unique two year basis advanced level training designed for professionals interested in pursuing a career as an international arbitrator, held under the auspices of the ICC Institute of World Business Law and ICC International Court of Arbitration.
Adrian Iordache is the Managing Partner at Iordache Partners. He is an international commercial lawyer with particular interests in business law, commercial disputes and international arbitration, as well as aviation law. Adrian is widely recognized as a pragmatic, business-first attorney, with a deep knowledge of both the international environment and local complexities. Adrian is a New York State and D.C. qualified attorney, a UK Solicitor and a Romanian avocat. He is also a Fellow of the Chartered Institute of Arbitrators in London.
Thomas Granier is a co-founder of Delos and member of its Arbitration Consultative Committee, and Counsel at ASAFO & Co. Mr Granier acts as counsel and arbitrator in a wide array of disputes relating in particular to new technologies, IT, energy, M&A, joint-ventures, construction and distribution. Mr Granier has acted in a number of commercial and investment arbitrations, both ad hoc and under the rules of leading institutions, including the HKIAC, the ICC, the LCIA, and ICSID. Prior to joining ASAFO &Co., Mr Granier was an attorney at McDermott Will & Emery, and previously served as counsel for the Africa, Middle-East and Europe Team at the ICC International Court of Arbitration in Paris, after having acted as deputy counsel for the Germany, Switzerland, and Austria Team. At the ICC, Mr Granier supervised more than 300 arbitrations and reviewed a number of arbitration awards. Mr Granier holds degrees from the Université Paris I – Panthéon-Sorbonne (Master 2), the Ludwig-Maximilians Universität in Munich (LL.M.) and the Université Paris II – Panthéon-Assas (Maîtrise). Mr Granier is listed among the Future Leaders of Arbitration by Who’s Who Legal.
